Safeguarding

All staff who work at Ysgol Bontnewydd have had safeguarding training. The training is repeated on a yearly basis. The staff are aware of procedures to help recognise and respond to child welfare concerns.  These concerns are passed to the Designated Senior Person for Safeguarding, in our case the Headteacher, who then follows clear guidelines on how to deal with any issued raised.

Looked after children

In partnership with Gwynedd County Council and other local councils, and as corporate parents we have a duty to safeguard and promote the education of Looked After Children.  We aim to provide a safe and secure environment, where there is belief in the abilities and potential of all children, including those who are looked after.  We support our Looked after Children and give them equal access to every opportunity to achieve their potential and to enjoy their learning.
